The Canadian Ski Patrol and its patrollers are partners. Like all partnerships, patrolling requires a good fit to benefit both you and the Canadian Ski Patrol. We want to provide you with all the information you need to make an informed decision about joining us. There are three ways to learn more about becoming a ski patroller in the Calgary Zone:

  • Information Night (a Zoom event on January 31, 2024)
  • Open House (an in-person event at the Scandinavian Centre on February 15, 2024)
  • Experience Patrol Day

These events are highly recommended to help you make an informed decision about joining the Canadian Ski Patrol.

What is an Experience Patrol Day?

An Experience Patrol Day is an all-day event held at our partner resorts during the winter season. On Experience Patrol Day, a small group of potential candidates is paired with two patrollers from the hill. During the day you will have the opportunity to:

  • see how patrollers spend their day from beginning to end
  • learn more about the operations of the Calgary Zone
  • ski the resort’s trails in a new way

Upcoming Experience Patrol Days will be held on:

  • Sunday, January 21, 2024 – Lake Louise (FULL)
  • Sunday, March 10, 2024 – Nordic
  • additional dates and locations to be determined

Not sure if this is the right year to join?  Keep an eye out for future Experience Patrol Days.

Shadow Day

Shadow days are like an Experience Patrol Day; however, you will be paired one-on-one with an experienced patroller. These are a great option if your schedule is a little less flexible.
