The fall recert season is fast approaching. Here are some important dates:<\/p>\n
Sept 7: 3rd year Assistant Instructor and Instructor (AI\/I) Updates
\nSept 8\/9: AI\/I Recerts
\nSept 15\/16:\u00a0 Returnee Recert #1
\nSept 24-27: Returnee Mid-Week Recert (Recert #2)
\nSept 29-30: Start of Rookie training
\nOct 20\/21: Last Returnee Recert (Recert #3)
\nNov 17: Rookie Mass Casualty Simulation (Open to all Patrollers)
\nDec 1-2: Rookie On-hill training (at Rabbit Hill Snow Resort)<\/p>\n
You can sign up for recert dates\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n Recerts will run from 0800 – 1600<\/strong> on the weekend<\/strong> dates, and from 1800 – 2200<\/strong> on the midweek<\/strong> dates. The mass casualty simulation is a volunteer event for the 2018 rookie class (it is not a test!), and we are requesting patrollers to participate as victims. Make-up and props will be provided!<\/p>\n Format for Alberta Patrollers will not change. We will be doing a 100 question CSP exam, 20 question CPR exam and a 5 question OH&S exam. We also will be doing the skills sheet and a diagnostic exam. You will need to score 80% to pass.<\/p>\n Note that despite what many of you may have heard or read, we will not<\/strong> be utilising Canadian Red Cross training materials.<\/p>\n Instructors and Assistant Instructors can help with the rookie class and with returnee recerts\u00a0after they\u00a0 have successfully recerted <\/strong>(we recomment that Instructors and Assistant Instructors recert on September 8\/9, see above).
