{"id":857,"date":"2016-10-17T04:21:12","date_gmt":"2016-10-17T04:21:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/calgary.ryanscullen.com\/?page_id=857"},"modified":"2019-04-15T20:07:25","modified_gmt":"2019-04-15T20:07:25","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.skipatrol.ca\/manitoba\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nestled in the heart of the prairies, Manitoba Division is made up of four zones &#8211; Northern Manitoba(Thompson), Western Manitoba(Brandon), Red River(Winnipeg) and Lake of the Woods(Kenora, Ont.)<\/p>\n<p>With an overall membership of about 100 members, Manitoba Division patrollers are among the most dedicated of the Canadian Ski Patrol family. Weather can be a challenge in the prairies but our patrollers can be found out on the slopes and trails making sure that people are safe and having fun. During the off season, many zones provide Advanced First Aid services at various festivals, runs\/walks, races and other events.<\/p>\n<p>All the zones in Manitoba welcome new candidates each year. People interested in joining the Canadian Ski Patrol in Manitoba are encouraged to contact the zones directly through email to find out more. People may be invited to come and ski with the patrol and be shown around the local ski area and treatment facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Nordic and Alpine disciplines are practiced in each of the four zones. Regular attendees at our ski hills include ski race clubs, snowboard clubs, masters clubs, cross country clubs , just to mention a few. Nordic races, biathlons and loppets are held regularly at various Nordic facilities in and around Winnipeg and at the ski areas in Western and Northern Manitoba and Lake of the Woods.<\/p>\n<p>There is a variety of terrain ranging from flatland to small hills, ravines and rolling hills. Smaller in stature but big of heart, the ski areas in Manitoba have something for all ages and abilities.
