Calgary to host Canadian Ski Patrol national conference in June 2020

CSP leaders from across Canada in attendance to chart course of patrol

The CSP Mountain Division is delighted that our Calgary Zone executives and members have been asked and agreed to host the Canadian Ski Patrol 2020 national conference.

Preliminary dates for the conference are June 4 to 7, 2020, at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Downtown. An organizing committee is being struck with input from the national, division and zone levels. The bulk of the organizing is done by national-level personnel, including staff of the national office in Ottawa and many volunteer organizers.

The CSP national conference sees attendees from zones and divisions across Canada meet to discuss developments and challenges in patrolling and running the organization, to develop policy and to elect board of directors leadership. The event also includes the annual awards event, in which distinguished members of the CSP are recognized for their contributions and accomplishments.

Schedule items include an important meeting of zone presidents, who share ideas and resources and identify common issues.

The 2019 conference was held in Toronto. After Calgary in 2020. Preliminary plans are that the conference will be held in Montreal in 2021, Winnipeg in 2022 and again in Toronto in 2023. Calgary last hosted the national conference in 2012, when it was held at the nearby Kananaskis Village just west of Calgary.
