We all know that responding to some accidents can be harder than others. Some may have the potential to truly affect us and can replay in our minds for some time. The CSP cares about the impact these critical incidents could have on its volunteers, and that’s where the critical incident stress management (CISM) program comes in.

Over the last few years more than 60 patrollers from across Canada have completed CISM training in order to build their skills and support their peers. Courses have been offered, alternating between group crisis intervention, and assisting individuals in crisis. We will again be offering a course in assisting individuals in crisis, at this year’s leadership conference at Big White, March 30th to April 2nd 2017.

As part of the 2017 CSP Leadership Conference, we are able to offer this two-day course on March 29 and 30 at a greatly reduced price to active members of the CSP. CSP members: $150. Non Members: $300 (before March 1) $375 after March 1.

Details on registration will be available online soon. You can also contact the instructor/National CISM Coordinator Brian Bennett directly at cismtraining@outlook.com, 416-894-6015 or cismtraining.ca.
