It’s hard to believe that summer has come and gone. As usual, with the arrival of September, it feels like the new season is around the corner. The ski industry is picking up again, with much work to be done before the snow flies.

Of course, the Canadian Ski Patrol is increasingly a four-season organization. Many of you were active through the summer supporting an ever-increasing number of events. These are important for so many reasons, so thank you for your continued work off the snow.

The national organization was certainly busy over the summer months. There are exciting changes coming to our recognition and awards program, and to our annual conference, among other initiatives. Stay tuned for more information. Division presidents have been developing an approach to integrate into the national management team to ultimately strengthen the connection between the national organization and the local level. We’re looking forward to their recommendations. On a related note, I was pleased with the work of Atlantic East Division to merge zones. The new Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland zones will be more streamlined, but most important, more effective. Kudos to the leaders in Atlantic East Division for leading by example and developing a more modern and efficient structure.

Please stay tuned for more updates in the months ahead. In the meantime, welcome back.
