Dear division presidents and zone presidents:

We are happy to announce the selection of Linda Andrews as Vice-President of Training and Development. Linda was selected through a formal interview process involving two former board members and myself. There were two strong applicants for the role, which we were very happy to see. It is good to have interest in these important national roles. Thanks to the candidates for their interest and to the past board members who participated in the selection process.

This appointment is effective immediately, and we’re excited to have Linda join the team on a more permanent basis. Linda has been acting in the VP role for several months, and has done excellent work moving the portfolio forward. Many of you will know Linda from her long-time involvement with training and development. In her professional career, Linda is a public health nurse with a regional health authority just west of Toronto. She is a member in Western Zone and patrols at Caledon Ski Club in Central Zone. Linda is life member no. 66, which was presented at our annual conference at Big White in 2017.

The training and development portfolio oversees all elements of developing, managing and advancing our training programs. This includes our advanced first aid program, on-snow training, instructor certification program, and our leadership development efforts, among others. One of the key areas for the future will be the analysis of potential alternative approaches to first aid delivery with the ultimate objective of identifying an approach that is sustainable. Linda played a key leadership role in getting this process off the ground and it will be an important area of focus moving forward.

Please join me in congratulating Linda and welcoming her to the national management committee.

Kind regards,

Colin Saravanamuttoo

President and Chief Executive Officer
