We are happy to announce the appointment of Linda Andrews, effective immediately, as VP training and development. Linda was selected through a formal interview process involving two former board members and myself. Thanks to the candidates for their interest and to the past board members who participated in the selection process.

Linda has been acting in the VP role for several months, and we’re excited to have her on the team on a permanent basis. In her professional career, Linda is a public health nurse with a regional health authority just west of Toronto. She is a member in Western Zone and patrols at Caledon Ski Club in Central Zone. Linda is Life Member No. 66.

The training and development portfolio oversees all elements of developing, managing and advancing our training programs. This includes our advanced first aid program, on-snow training, instructor certification program, and our leadership development efforts, among others. One of the key areas for the future will be the analysis of potential alternative approaches to first aid delivery with the ultimate objective of identifying an approach that is sustainable. Linda played a key leadership role in getting this process off the ground and it will be an important area of focus moving forward.

Please join me in congratulating Linda and welcoming her to the national management committee.
