Adriano and Oddone Viccari founded Nordica in 1939 in Montebelluna, Italy just south of the Dolomite Mountains as a high-end footwear company, but an increase in demand in the post-war years saw them pivot into ski boots. The region they called home was the epicenter of ski boot production that by the late ‘80s accounted for 70 per cent of the world’s ski boot production. Twelve past and present ski boot brands were created in the 26-km corridor between Asolo-Montebelluna- Giavera del Montello.

Nordica has a long list of pioneering moments in their boot-making history, including buckles (invented in 1960 by the Swiss but first used by Nordica), plastic boots (1963), inner liner (Astral Slalom also known as The Banana in 1972). The ‘90s saw the development of Grand Prix boots, which became a regular fixture on the world cup podium until they were eclipsed by the Dobermann for the new millennium.

What’s new for 2025-2026

Boots

Not a lot has changed in the top-end boots, the Dobermann and Promachine ranges are no-nonsense, minimalist performance boots. Where you start to see the exciting changes are the Speedmachine (100 mm last) and Sportmachine (102 mm last). Last year’s offering which had three men’s and two women’s BOA boots has now evolved to 10 men’s and eight women’s BOA models, including multiple dual BOA systems.

Skis

Nordica returns with a revamp of its Enforcer and Santa Ana series. They’ve reduced tip weight and refined the tail rocker for more forgiveness and fun. Most of the lines are returning unchanged with graphic upgrades, except for the Spitfire and Bell lines which get a few more forgiving models.

One all-new model that stands out is the Dobermann Multipista DC.

Crafted to be the most versatile carving ski on the mountain. From top to bottom and first chair to last, Nordica designed a ski that could handle it all while delivering the same performance run after run, no matter the on-piste conditions. Our desire led to a focused three-year R&D process that resulted in an all-new shape for an all-new purpose – to ski all day and every day, with the same stable and confident experience. This new design, paired with our Energy 2 TI DC construction, results in a highly stable and adaptable ski that is damp and agile in the ungroomed; precise, and powerful on the hardpack. With its exceptional versatility, the Multipista will respond with the same power and performance whether you are arcing turns across fresh corduroy or smashing through crud.

Multi condition shape

By merging the winning technology and shape of our all-terrain tip and on-piste tail, we have created the ultimate combination for a front-side carving ski that can adapt to all conditions, all day.

On-piste rocker

The all-new Multipista is a crafted fusion of two rocker profiles, creating a carving ski that will drive through all on-piste conditions and result in a consistent ride from top to bottom.
