The Ride to Conquer Cancer is Canada’s largest and most impactful cycling fundraiser. All proceeds directly benefit Toronto’s Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, one of the top five cancer research centres in the world. While each rider has their own reason for participating, everyone has the same goal: Conquer Cancer in Our Lifetime. On June 7 and 8, 2025, the CSP will be there too.
I have volunteered at many non-ski events over my years as a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol. As a member of the CSP bicycle, motorcycle, and vehicle emergency response unit, our team is in the mix, providing on-road medical support for the ride. We ride alongside close to 4,000 cancer survivors, family members, fundraisers, and those riding in memory of friends and family, for more than 200 km over two days providing support and first aid as appropriate. This event has provided me with many positive, meaningful, and impactful experiences that make being a member of our CSP team so special.
As members of the CSP, we are professional, passionate and proud! But we are more: We care. We can also donate. Each of us has been impacted personally or indirectly by the results of cancer. Together, we can donate to demonstrate once more we care.
The CSP, in addition to providing volunteer medical services, has a fundraising team. If each member of the CSP donated $5 we could contribute more than $20,000 to help Conquer Cancer in Our Lifetime! I am excited to be part of this fundraising effort.
Let’s take one more opportunity to demonstrate our passion and our pride. Please help.
