Registration for the 2021 CSP Mountain Division Ski Improvement Clinic will open in June. The 2021 sessions – offered in two separate weeks in late January and mid-February – will mark the 10th anniversary the event has been held at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, and will once again deliver amazing value.

The 2021 program is being planned to stick to a winning formula and include four-days of group lessons, five day of lifts, and the wrap-up banquet. As Canadians learn to manage risks around COVID-19, the program will adhere to British Columbia provincial health requirements and industry best practices to optimize safety.

The planned 2021 CSP Mountain Division Ski Improvement weeks are:

  • Week 1: January 24 to 29.
  • Week 2: February 7 to 12.

The launch of registration was delayed from its usual late March/early April timeframe this year due to uncertainties arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. Pricing for programming and accommodation is being finalized and will be in place in early June. For details and how to register, visit the CSP Mountain Division website. Attendees of either week of the 2020 clinic will also be notified by email.

Traditionally, attendees arrive on a Sunday with a meet-and-greet, enjoy five hours of group instruction (grouped by skiing or snowboarding, and by competency level) each day Monday through Thursday; gather to celebrate at a wrap-up banquet and pub night on Thursday evening, and enjoy an un-programmed day of skiing or snowboarding on the Friday.

Along the way are daily, er, hydration sessions at the pub, optional fine dining nights, a host’s party and most of all, amazing comradery and skills improvement. Everyone receives a valuable (and actually useful) memento of unique Ski Improvement Clinic swag.

We will be working to preserve the best parts of the Ski Improvement program in 2021, while observing B.C. Ministry of Health guidelines. As health authorities’ and the ski industry develop operating protocols, not all of those requirements are currently known, and may not be for some time. Please check the CSP Mountain Division website for more details. Questions will be welcomed by the clinic coordinator, Geoff Scotton, at geoffscotton@skipatrol.ca
