From NDS 2.0 to Yeti<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the past\u00a0<\/span>20<\/span>\u00a0years, our current National Database\u00a0<\/span>S<\/span>ystem has stored an abundance of information. From personal membership information to education resources to policies about all levels of our organization.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But, as the CSP’s needs continue to evolve, the importance of upgrading our digital and information systems also requires updated technologies.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The NDS<\/span>\u00a0\u2013<\/span>\u00a0through the efforts of\u00a0<\/span>Charlie Turner<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>Pierre Charest, along with Eric Waddell and Drew Martin<\/span>\u00a0as well as support from individuals over the years<\/span>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0<\/span>has<\/span>\u00a0met our needs and now we are excited about the new horizon of our information technology offerings.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yeti is a<\/span><\/span>\u00a0member<\/span><\/span>\u00a0management system that will function primarily for administrative purposes. The leading group of individuals who will utilize its features are administrators (such as Patrol\u00a0<\/span><\/span>L<\/span><\/span>eaders, Division and Zone executives, National Administrators, etc.) However, individual members will have some simple access to information such as their patroller profile (including the ability to update their info, view years registered, written and practical qualification dates, etc.)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Board approved the development of an updated database system in\u00a0<\/span>2019<\/span>, and the Yeti committee has been meeting biweekly since\u00a0<\/span>January 2020<\/span>\u00a0to make this a reality.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where are we now?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We have identified core needs this tool must meet through many hours of consultation with multiple user groups and individuals within all CSP levels.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For the past\u00a0<\/span>six<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>months, beta testing has been occurring with select individuals<\/span>, and we are now expanding this testing to\u00a0<\/span>the following regions<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(user acceptance testing)<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
