By Kerri Loudoun, Communications and Marketing Portfolio leader (kerri.loudoun@skipatrol.ca<\/a>)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Many divisions, zones and patrol teams create fun and practical items to use by their members – both while patrolling and to use as ambassadors of the CSP.<\/p>\n The national CSP team encourages these groups to create a variety of items like swag, non-uniform clothing and more.<\/p>\n Know how to use the CSP branding<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Ensuring the CSP brand is presented appropriately is crucial in maintaining our reputation with a variety of crucial audiences. Whether your branded items are being seen by the public, resort staff, or even your team\u2019s patrollers, there are ways that the CSP logo, our name and the other forms of branding must be used.<\/p>\n Resources to assist you<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n There is a comprehensive page on the member\u2019s website that will help guide you in creating your items. To access this link users must be logged into the website. Please pay close attention to the checklist.<\/p>\n Use of our CSP logo<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Depending on your region, single-language versions of the logo may be appropriate. However, we are rigid on how folks may use the logo.<\/p>\n When creating items that are being printed that include our logo (ex. swag, non-uniform clothing items, signage, tents, etc), please send all mock-ups to Communications and Marketing portfolio Leader Kerri Loudoun (kerri.loudoun@skipatrol.ca) for review and approval. If you do not have approval on your designs but you go forward with ordering the items, you may be required to destroy what you ordered if the use of the CSP branding does not meet our standards. We want to avoid any waste of funds and frustration this may cause. If you\u2019re not sure if the design falls within our standards, just check with Kerri and she\u2019ll advise quickly if you need to adjust.<\/p>\n Placing our logo on another organisation\u2019s products<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Thinking of putting our logo on a local craft beer as a fundraiser? Perhaps a local brand of breakfast cereal? There are specific legal licencing requirements to do so, including a royalty payment to the CSP. Before you agree to do this, contact Kerri Loudoun for assistance. Lack of approval will result in legal action against the company using our logo. Only the co-executive directors are authorized to sign such licencing agreements. It\u2019s also important to note that confirming licensing agreements takes more time than one might think, so if this is an avenue you are wanting to explore, please account for longer turnaround times from not only the CSP end, but the brand you\u2019d like to have our logo on.<\/p>\n Interested in creating CSP clothing to use as official uniforms?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Although we have a partnership in place with Helly Hansen as our official uniform supplier, we do not mandate members across the country to wear only HH-CSP uniform options. We understand there are instances where what is offered by HH does not meet your needs.<\/p>\n Zones have the option to source local suppliers to create pieces that are uniform in nature. However, these pieces must be reviewed carefully by the communications and marketing portfolio leader to ensure they meet our standards with respect to placement and number of white crosses and the CSP logo.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t want to create your own branded items?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Don\u2019t forget we have an e-Store with a range of branded material. Items are added regularly and can be purchased by everyone, including non-CSP members! There is a great selection of swag and clothing available.<\/p>\n
