This prestigious award recognizes patrollers who have made significant contributions to the growth of the Canadian Ski Patrol over and above their regular patrol duties.<\/p>\n<p>The recipients of the CSP Award in 2022 were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>963 \u2013 Daniel Martin \u2013 North Border Zone<\/li>\n<li>964 \u2013 Edward Grant \u2013 Eastern Townships Zone<\/li>\n<li>965 \u2013 Jim Torrie \u2013 Central Zone<\/li>\n<li>966 \u2013 Jodie Marc Lalonde \u2013 Muskoka Zone<\/li>\n<li>967 \u2013 Natalie Everett \u2013 Muskoka Zone<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>963 \u2013 Daniel Martin \u2013 North Border Zone<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-17176\" src=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081844\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Daniel-Martin.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081844\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Daniel-Martin.png 250w, https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081844\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Daniel-Martin-230x230.png 230w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Daniel Martin held the position of finance officer at the local, zone and division levels, all at the same time. He created a system of accounting that made the year-end financial reporting to national easy to understand and to complete.<\/p>\n<p>He is an active instructor and trainer taking part in the preparation and execution of the yearly first aid training as well as on snow courses. He holds the position of assistant patrol leader at Mount Farlagne, as well as supply officer and is still involved with the critical incident stress management team \u2026 a very involved patroller!<\/p>\n<p>Daniel has been instrumental in local fundraising and non-ski events. This has enabled local patrol members to assist with division and national award ceremonies, reduce yearly dues for the members and purchase equipment for the zone.<br \/>\nDaniel is considered a pillar of the local patrol, North Border Zone (now Wabanaki Zone) and the Atlantic West Division.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>964 \u2013 Edward Grant \u2013 Eastern Townships Zone<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-17178\" src=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081845\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Edward-Grant.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081845\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Edward-Grant.png 250w, https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081845\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Edward-Grant-230x230.png 230w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Over the years, Ted Grant has been active in his zone on an operational level as patrol leader at Owl\u2019s Head Mountain, at the educational level as both a first aid and on-snow instructor and at an administrative level zone VP Finance.<\/p>\n<p>When he became the national vice-president of finance he supported and took direction and guidance from the CSP Financial Oversight Committee (FOC), reviewed the national office bookkeeping practices and worked closely with the national office during the budget process for submission to the FOC. His efforts assisted the FOC members as they could count on his accuracy and timely reporting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>965 \u2013 Jim Torrie \u2013 Central Zone<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-17180\" src=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081846\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Jim-Torrie.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081846\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Jim-Torrie.png 250w, https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081846\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Jim-Torrie-230x230.png 230w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>For most of Jim\u2019s long patrol career, he has served as an instructor, examiner (in the old days) and instructor-trainer in AFA and on snow modules. He attends and participates in instructor yearly updates, new candidate courses, and regularly judges at zone, division, and national competitions. Jim has been a mentor to many, inspiring other instructors with his calm, precise and highly prepared approach.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his strong education skills, Jim has exhibited exceptional managerial skills as assistant patrol leader and patrol leader.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>966 \u2013 Jodie Marc Lalonde \u2013 Muskoka Zone<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-17182\" src=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081847\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Jodie-Marc-Lalonde.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081847\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Jodie-Marc-Lalonde.png 250w, https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081847\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Jodie-Marc-Lalonde-230x230.png 230w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>While Jodie is very active in recruiting, retention and mentorship at the zone level, his most notable accomplishments have been during his tenure as a member of the CSP board of directors.<\/p>\n<p>Jodie is a valued and positive influence on the restructuring of the organization. He was instrumental in the development of the reporting hierarchy of the CSP moving from a single CEO to a two-person co-ED structure. Jodie was also influential in the modernization of the compensation committee in terms of the evaluation of staff and opening the process of evaluation to the whole board of directors. He was also an integral part in the development of the CSP\u2019s strategic plan, and mission and values. Jodie applied his knowledge and background in hotel conference and events management to save the CSP thousands of dollars with the cancellation of conference costs as the pandemic took hold.<\/p>\n<p>Jodie was responsible for the Volunteer for All Seasons strategy, a recruitment initiative to display a mannequin dressed in the official CSP uniform at a local sporting goods store This initiative has since expanded with the onboarding of Helly Hansen as a national sponsor and has resulted in mannequins being displayed in the official CSP uniform at Helly Hansen stores during International Ski Patrol Week.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>967 \u2013 Natalie Everett \u2013 Muskoka Zone<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-17184\" src=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081848\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Natalie-Everitt.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081848\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Natalie-Everitt.png 250w, https:\/\/cspnational.s3.ca-central-1.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2024\/06\/14081848\/img.062024.2022-CSP-Recipients.Natalie-Everitt-230x230.png 230w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/>Natalie&#8217;s dedicated efforts have moved the CSP forward area of eLearning. She has been the national eLearning coordinator since 2015, and has written scripts and narrated English modules for on snow, AFA and ICP modules, coordinated the uploading of all modules in French and English for online learning, and uploading of the eExams. Members of her team include division eLearning representatives and she supports them in their roles.<\/p>\n<p>Natalie\u2019s efforts have been instrumental in providing our members the option to study and learn from home and prepare for classroom sessions by completing online learning prior to arriving for class.
