This prestigious awards program honours patrollers who have gone above and beyond in their service to the organization and the skiing community.<\/p>\n<p>Until the awards nomination portal is open, we want to provide members some tips and tricks to assist them with writing a nomination. But for those not familiar, this first article will provide general information about the program.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"color: #a6192e;\"><strong>Program overview<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The CSP offers a wide range of awards to recognize excellence in various aspects of patrolling by the national organization:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">National Appreciation Award<\/strong><br \/>\nThis award acknowledges patrollers who have contributed significantly more time and effort than expected in performing their duties over a minimum of five years. Recipients receive a numbered certificate and special national appreciation award pin.<div class=\"su-divider su-divider-style-default\" style=\"margin:15px 0;border-width:0px;border-color:#ffffff\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">Canadian Ski Patroller Award<\/strong><br \/>\nHonouring extraordinary leadership and dedication, this award is given to patrollers who have made significant contributions in any aspect of patrolling after receiving a National Appreciation Award. Recipients receive a numbered award certificate, special pin, and a specially designed jacket nametag.<div class=\"su-divider su-divider-style-default\" style=\"margin:15px 0;border-width:0px;border-color:#ffffff\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">Life Member Award<\/strong><br \/>\nThe highest honour bestowed by the CSP, this award recognizes members who have made meaningful contributions to enhance, grow, or improve programs and practices across multiple dimensions of the organization. Recipients receive lifetime membership, a numbered certificate, a recognition pin, and a specially designed jacket nametag.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Other notable awards<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">John D. Harper Lifesaving Award:<\/strong> Recognizes extraordinary first aid performance.<div class=\"su-divider su-divider-style-default\" style=\"margin:15px 0;border-width:0px;border-color:#ffffff\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">Bravery Award:<\/strong> Honours patrollers who have risked their lives to rescue others.<div class=\"su-divider su-divider-style-default\" style=\"margin:15px 0;border-width:0px;border-color:#ffffff\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">Public Relations Award:<\/strong> Acknowledges efforts in promoting the CSP&#8217;s image.<div class=\"su-divider su-divider-style-default\" style=\"margin:15px 0;border-width:0px;border-color:#ffffff\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">Safety Award:<\/strong> Recognizes contributions to safety promotion.<div class=\"su-divider su-divider-style-default\" style=\"margin:15px 0;border-width:0px;border-color:#ffffff\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">Excellence in Education Award:<\/strong> Honours significant impact on CSP educational programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The CSP also offers awards for outstanding zones, executives, and long-term service milestones.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"color: #a6192e;\"><strong>Nomination process<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We will be opening the nomination portal* in January 2025. The deadline to submit nominations will be <strong>April 28, 2025<\/strong>. To read the full job description, click here.<\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<h2 style=\"color: #a6192e;\"><strong>Why nominate?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Patrollers are encouraged to nominate deserving colleagues who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership, and service to the CSP. By recognizing these individuals, the CSP aims to inspire and motivate all members to strive for excellence in their patrolling duties.<\/p>\n<p>Awards are issued at all three levels of the CSP: national (which this article is referencing), division, and zone. Every division and zone has its own nomination requirements and award categories.
