There are many scientific studies and articles on the mental health benefits of a pet companion.<\/p>\n<p>As we kick-off 2025, we are inviting patrollers to share a photo of your furry, fluffy, scaly or feathered pet to be featured in an upcoming <em>5\/5<\/em> newsletter.<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">How to get your pet featured<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Please send an email to Diana Lee (<a href=\"mailto:diana.lee@skipatrol.ca\">diana.lee@skipatrol.ca<\/a>) with the subject line: \u201cPets of Patrollers: Your Name, Your Pet Name\u201d and the following details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Name, age, breed of your pet (e.g., Rex, 11 years old, German Shepherd dog).<\/li>\n<li>Fun fact or an interesting detail about your pet and what they mean to you.<\/li>\n<li>Attach a photo of your pet (bonus points if they are wearing CSP gear).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mental health is an important aspect of the Canadian Ski Patrol. We hope that these pet photos spark joy throughout your 2025 season!<\/p>\n<p>Even for those who don&#8217;t have pets, interacting or even seeing an animal can boost their mood. Just think of the positive impact of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ottawahospital.on.ca\/en\/healthy-tomorrows\/not-just-another-furry-face-the-scientific-benefits-of-therapy-dogs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">therapy dogs<\/a>!<\/p>\n<h3><strong style=\"color: #a6192e;\">How to get more mental health support<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you have experienced an event that caused a strong emotional or physical response afterwards, remember that you always have access to Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). Members of the CSP are available across Canada to assist you.
