Thus, it is a priority to remain current in avalanche skills and practices.<\/p>\n<p>This role involves raising the awareness of avalanche safety for all CSP members - maintaining awareness information on various CSP websites and providing opportunities for patrollers to attend avalanche safety courses.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"color: #a6192e;\"><strong>Key responsibilities<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Manage the CSP\u2019s avalanche education programs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure websites are maintained with current information.<\/li>\n<li>Promote avalanche skills training for members to increase their value to ski centre management.<\/li>\n<li>Avalanche Canada licenses organizations to provide their suite of avalanche courses. The CSP is a licensed provider. Manage the CSP avalanche course offerings to ensure compliance with all aspects of the <em>AvCan Provider Agreement<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with the CSP Mountain Division, the funding partner of the CSP\u2019s avalanche programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"color: #a6192e;\"><strong>Ideal candidate<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Has strong organizational skills and is a good communicator.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Can demonstrate an ability to manage multiple tasks and lead teams effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Will be a winter backcountry traveller (skis, snowboard, snowshoes or snowmobile).<\/li>\n<li>Is interested in education.<br \/>\nIs willing to pursue the Canadian Avalanche Association\u2019s professional level courses to qualify as a Basic Avalanche Educator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While the ideal candidate should aspire to qualify to teach avalanche courses, this position's primary role is to coordinate the programs.<\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates should send their expressions of interest and qualifications by <span style=\"color: #a6192e;\"><strong>September 30, 2025<\/strong><\/span>, to <a href=\"mailto:ken.lukawy@skipatrol.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ken.lukawy@skipatrol.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ken Lukawy, National Avalanche Program Coordinator (ken.lukawy@skipatrol.ca) The CSP Training and Development Portfolio is looking for a member to take on the national avalanche program coordinator role.
