In March 2025, Peterborough and North Kawartha Township was hit with a devastating ice storm, which knocked out power and communications for several weeks. The aftermath of damage throughout the area was significant. The Kawartha Nordic Ski Club wasn\u2019t spared.<\/p>\n

Since June volunteers have worked tirelessly to reopen our interconnected trail system which is located at the base of the Canadian shield, just south of Apsley, Ontario.<\/p>\n

We are extremely proud to announce that all trails will be open for the 2025-2026 season.<\/p>\n

Support from and for the Kawartha Nordic patrol team<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

On November 17, 2025, Kawartha Nordic ski patrollers attended the annual volunteer night and AGM for our local ski facility. About 40 people participated and we jointly celebrated the contributions of the many diverse volunteers that make our club happen successfully.<\/p>\n

Our general manager, Megan Gamble revealed a new promotional banner for the club which was showcased at the meeting.<\/p>\n

As a patrol team, we also shared our new promotional recruitment banners and spoke of our efforts to support the club and events within our local community.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

It was made very clear at the meeting our patrol team\u2019s efforts are well received and contribute significantly to the club operations.<\/p>\n

Our motto within the zone across all the various patrols \u2013 whether alpine, Nordic, or special events is “Always Recruiting.”<\/p>\n
