Understanding which website to use, when<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

It can be overwhelming for new members and returning CSP members to know where to find what, when it comes to resources for training and education, registration, newsletters and so on. This article is intended to assist everyone in getting a better understanding of what things live where, in terms of CSP digital entities.<\/p>\n

Yeti \u2013 where your personal member info lives
\n<\/span><\/strong>yeti.skipatrol.ca (login required)<\/b><\/h3>\n

Yeti is the database system that replaced the earlier National Database System (NDS). This database houses all CSP member, and past member, information \u2013 member\u2019s name, address, assigned ski area, training completion dates \u2013 and so on.<\/p>\n

Additionally, some members (who have expanded administrative permissions at the zone, division or national level) can run summary reports of patrollers related to membership expiry dates, requalification dates, area information and more.<\/p>\n

All members can log into their Yeti profile and update their personal information as necessary, but they can also view their digital member ID badge (the red version that shows your membership expiry date, your photo, and a QR code).<\/p>\n

Yeti does not house files like the NDS did.<\/div><\/div>\n

Learning Management System (LMS) \u2013 our refreshed e-learning platform
\n<\/span><\/strong>lms.skipatrol.ca (login required)<\/b><\/h3>\n

The LMS is where CSP members find online learning modules. It houses several videos that assist with preparing for testing, the current AFA manual and other various student and instructor support materials.<\/p>\n

Over the past two years, there has been intensive work by many volunteers to update our online modules and training resources. We are working to make the learning experience more engaging and modern for everyone. Continual refinement of the learning materials is now the standard with the training and development team at the national level.<\/p>\n

This is the main hub for many things that will be useful to CSP members at all levels. Currently, it\u2019s your location to find the following:<\/p>\n

  • Quick link to get into your Yeti profile.<\/li>\n
  • Quick link to get into the Learning Centre (LMS).<\/li>\n
  • A listing of current volunteer opportunities available at the national level.<\/li>\n
  • HR policies and related supporting documents.<\/li>\n
  • AGM information.<\/li>\n
  • Our current strategic plan.<\/li>\n
  • Leadership organizational chart and contact info.<\/li>\n
  • Awards recognition program info.<\/li>\n
  • Insurance documents and forms.<\/li>\n
  • Other support resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The national recognition program is now conducted with online nominations. Members can visit this website to read the details for each national award category and submit written nominations for all the national awards.<\/p>\n

    This website is typically open for nomination submissions for a specific window of time, and after the deadline to submit nominations passes, the website is not accessible until the next awards season. The typical nomination window is January to April of reach year.<\/p>\n

    This platform is also used by many divisions and zone for their respective recognition program.<\/p>\n

    MS 365 (login required)<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The CSP uses MS SharePoint and MS Teams for cloud services, project management and meetings. For key administrators and executives at various levels of the CSP, we have several teams set up in MS 365 to hold sensitive items and resources specific to key groups like:<\/p>\n

    • Division presidents and zone presidents.<\/li>\n
    • Training and development individuals such as instructor trainers, training managers, instructors.<\/li>\n
    • The CSP board of directors.<\/li>\n
    • CSP national management committee members.<\/li>\n
    • Key advisory committees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Some resources and documents that formerly lived in the NDS have been or are in the process of being migrated to applicable locations in our SharePoint. Individuals who require access to these items are provided with login credentials by the CSP National Management Committee as necessary.<\/p>\n

      Looking to the future<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

      The board of directors and the national management committee are committed to simplifying access to all tools and resources available to all levels of the membership.<\/p>\n

      We are also continually reviewing best practices around digital properties for organizations with a membership our size, user-experience innovations and the many other facets of operating in a digital space that changes at high speed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
