Are you interested in joining the exciting world of high-country patrolling at Marmot Basin? The first Marmot Basin training weekend of the 2019/20 season will take place on the weekend of November 30 and December 1 (a Camelherder weekend). This training weekend is your first step along the path leading to a high country rating. Candidates will have to train on a total of four weekends – the training weekend, an orientation weekend, and two shadow weekends. The orientation and shadow weekends will be scheduled and announced once numbers are confirmed.
Training weekend participants should expect to ski all open terrain at Marmot Basin, including double black runs, chutes and Eagle’s East. It is expected that all who sign up for training will be able to confidently negotiate all open terrain in all conditions.
Training is open to all patrollers with a current toboggan certification, including rookies who completed their on-hill training in the spring. Anyone interested in registering should contact our illustrious Camelherder trainers by email at CSPatMarmot@gmail.com
There will be a second training weekend on the February 1/2 weekend (a Roadrunner weekend). Anyone interested in registering for this second training weekend should contact George Tribe (one of the Roadrunner trainers) by email at gctribe@gmail.com
