Details of Member Re-Qualification for the 2020/21 Season

Please read carefully. If you have any questions and/or concerns, then please reach out to our illustrious VP Education, John Nesbit.

Re-qualification is the exciting new-to-us terminology that National is applying to what used to be called “re-certification”. Anyone who requires further clarification on terminology should contact John Nesbit.

Each active member of the Edmonton Zone should have been registered with National’s eLearning site (located at courses.edu.skipatrol.ca). To patrol in the 2020/21 season, you are required to complete the re-qualification module and pay your membership fees prior to your first shift. The course is ready to go, easy to navigate, and comprises a series of videos and quizzes. Once completed, we will have a process to receive e-payment of your fees and then we will register you for the 2020/21 season. Details will follow later on the payment process.

Many of you will have a received an email from National containing login credentials for the eLearning site. These credentials comprise your patroller number (e.g. 070300110) and a password. Note that this password is distinct from the one you use to log onto the National site, National Database System and the Edmonton Zone website. The credentials you may have received apply only to the eLearning site.

What to do if you have not eLearning credentials. Don’t panic! We have a process for this! If you haven’t received login credentials, please do the following: click on the Forgotten username or password? link, then enter the email address at which you normally receive CSP communications and click Search. You should then receive an email with working login credentials. If this doesn’t work, try the following. (i) If you have two email addresses that you use for CSP business, try the second one, and/or; (ii) try omitting or adding the leading zero of your patroller number. If all else fails, email John and he will work tirelessly, day and night, until the problem is solved.

For this year and this year only, there is no hands-on CPR/AED/BLS course needed for your re-qualification. Your CPR/AED/BLS certification has been extended to December 31, 2021. Note that this may not satisfy CPR/AED/BLS certifications you need for your job.

Don’t end up like this guy! Re-qualify while you still have time.
