This from Zone Casino Coordinator Louise Charron:
We are delighted to advise all members that our zone has been scheduled for casino dates – July 22 and 23, 2019 at Yellowhead Casino. As this is primarily our strongest fundraising event, we are in need of volunteers to work casino shifts – please remember that casino shifts worked by volunteers and/or family/friends of the members count towards your commitment to fulfil two fundraising events during the year. As this event falls in July the Edmonton zone executive gave us permission to do one of two things – members can count this event towards your 2018-19 season or if you have already fulfilled this year’s obligation you can count this event towards the 2019-20 season (you do need to communicate in advance your preference in order for us to confirm your fulfilment to the zone executive).
Again, the casino is at Yellowhead Casino – volunteers are asked to please sign in 15 minutes before your shift time slot, to wear business casual (no jeans, shorts or sleeveless shirts), members are not able to consume alcoholic beverages at the casino during any time of the two day event, nor are members allowed to gamble at the facility.
A meal (during your shift) will be provided, and we always have snacks and drinks in the volunteer room available during the shift. No outside food or drink is allowed. If you sign up for a shift you and must cancel, then please ensure that you contact me to advise of your cancellation. Volunteers are asked to be on time, as this is an AGLC sanctioned event and attendance within a certain time frame is taken and the risk is to be fined or for us to lose future event dates if we are not compliant with volunteer assignments. I cannot stress the importance of this – remember this is our bread and butter for our zone and it is extremely important that we continue to fulfil this event.
