New gear season is upon us

It’s no secret that the CSP offers its members some of the best pro deals in the industry. This year, we are pleased to continue offering you a fantastic selection of old favourites and new brands to try out.

To review current pro deals, log into the member’s website, and click on the Current Pro Deals link under the shopping cart icon on the home page.

Note that the CSP pro deals team is still finalizing renewal commitments of a small handful of our pro deal partners (and working to expand the stable). We appreciate your patience if you’re affected.

New CSP pro deals for 2022-2023

We are pleased to announce two new pro deal offers to our members:

ARVA Equipment – For more than 35 years, ARVA has kept people safe by designing and manufacturing high-performance avalanche rescue equipment. In 2020, ARVA launched a sustainability program and has set 14 objectives to reduce the brand’s CO2 emissions by 15 per cent by 2025. Since November 2021, every kilogram of CO2 equivalent emitted by ARVA is offset by funding carbon sequestration projects through ClimatePartner.

ARVA offers CSP members 30 per cent off retail using code: SkiPatrolCA22-23

Red Bull SPECT – Since 2016, SPECT Eyewear and energy drink manufacturer Red Bull have been in close partnership, merging years of experience in product development, design and manufacture of eyewear with the requirements of top athletes. An independent collection was cooperatively developed which includes highly functional sunglasses and ski goggles.

Red Bull SPECT is proud to offer all of Canadian Ski Patrol members 45 per cent off our staff site, which includes Red Bull SPECT and Dahlgren socks. Please email prodeals@skipatrol.ca for a unique code that will get you on your way.

Updates from current CSP partners

Head Skis – A long-time pro deal partner of the CSP, Head Skis is pumped to release its new Protector bindings, which it suggests should be of great importance to all ski patrollers This binding can help reduce significant knee injuries by 50 per cent. It has a lateral release in the heel in both directions. It will travel seven mm in either direction and then rotate 30 degrees if needed. It has a secondary adjustment specifically for this release value which would be adjusted to the same number as the skiers’ DIN.

Head Skis offers its pro deal program only through the end of October (on select items and in limited quantities) using local ski retailers, and requires use of its pro deal form, which is available in the pro deals area of the CSP members’ website. Bring it with you to the ski shop.

Tools4Boards designs and manufactures innovative ski and snowboard tools crafted from the finest materials with relentless attention to detail, developed and produced to the most exacting standards in order to make skis and snowboards perform better.

Tools4Boards offers 20 per cent off all its products for CSP members using a code available by emailing prodeals@skipatrol.ca. Local pick-up and once weekly free delivery is available in the Calgary area.

Etiquette when redeeming pro deals

The CSP works hard to build and maintain positive relationships with our brand partners. But we also ask that our members be respectful and honest when accessing any of the pro-deals outlined on the member’s website.

As a general rule, please remember:

  • Offers are available to active Canadian Ski Patrol members and are a privilege provided by the offering companies.
  • Brand partner companies govern the offers and rules and they may change at any time without notice.
  • The CSP is not responsible for any discrepancy between the price offered here and the amount invoiced by the supplier, including any additional shipping, handling fees and applicable taxes/duties.
  • Items offered are for members’ personal use and cannot be sold, gifted, or purchased for someone else unless otherwise stated. Please follow each company’s terms and conditions.
  • Abuse may result in the brand withdrawing the offer from the CSP, and we may take disciplinary action against you, the member, in accordance with the policies of the Canadian Ski Patrol.
  • Transactions are between you and the offering company; the CSP cannot intercede on your behalf regarding your transaction.

What to do if you are turned down by a partner

If you are turned down by a partner, first reach out to prodeals@skipatrol.ca for advice. Some of our partners are more reluctant than others. Some have made exceptions for the CSP and sometimes their staff are simply unaware. We’ve also seen a few members who are part of other organizations (CSIA, government employees etc.) who have applied and try to use all their credentials at once. This typically leads to confusion on the part of the provider and leads to being declined. If you are applying as a member of the CSP then the identification you upload should only be your CSP ID number only.

In all cases there is no obligation on the part of the partner to provide a deal so please do not act aggressively and demand a pro deal. Most of the issues we see are resolved by uploading the proper identification and/or a polite email response asking for them to reconsider.

Questions or have a possible pro-deal partnership?

Do you have questions regarding a pro deal? Do you have contact with a brand we should consider adding to our roster of partners? Please email us at prodeals@skipatrol.ca, and we will explore the potential for a partnership with the CSP.
