Interested in the Mountain Division First Aid and On Snow Competition?
Calgary Zone is not currently represented by the 11 teams registered for the competition. If you are interested in participating, the details can be found below.
DATES: March 13-14, 2020
LOCATION: The event will be hosted by Edmonton Zone at Marmot Basin, Jasper, Alberta. The venue for accommodations and banquet etc. is the Sawridge Hotel.
EVENT DETAILS:
Friday, March 13
Session 1 is working in the elements with vacuum splints and mattress that the industry has been using more and more as we develop new processes for these valuable tools.
Session 2 will be extrication – rope work in terrain requiring a belay. It is a box belay that is utilized for extrication of a loaded toboggan in steep or variable terrain.
Saturday, March 14
Early start to first aid scenario followed by the toboggan race in the afternoon.
This year’s team with the highest first aid mark will be representing Mountain Division at Altitude’s National First Aid Competition held in Calgary.
