OK, here’s a photo before before we get into the bureaucratic gnarl

Please take the time to review incident reporting at the resort(s) you patrol at. A number of forms will need to be filled out when you provide assistance to a patient. These vary from resort to resort. If you have any questions about the resort-specific reporting forms, then please reach out to your shift senior or roster trainers for clarifications.

The one form that is the glue that holds our documentation process together is the Ski Area Accident Report Form (SAAR Form). This was developed by the Canada West Ski Areas Association (CWSAA). A copy of the SAAR form can be downloaded here.

A guide to filling out the SAAR form can be downloaded here. A handy list of abbreviations can be downloaded here.

Note that each resort has its own policy of patroller identification on the forms used. These range from using the last four digits of your CSP patroller number to a combination of your name and your resort call sign.

YOU NEED TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE ACCIDENT REPORTING PROCESS AT THE RESORT(S) YOU PATROL AT.
