Committed to Effective Communications On & Off the Snow

The Canadian Ski Patrol is an organization with an 80 year legacy of providing first aid and emergency rescue services to Canadians where they play – both on and off the snow. With a membership of more than 4,000, these professionals are passionate about snow sliding sports and helping people in times of need.

As our partner resorts change with the challenges and threats facing the snow and outdoor adventure industries, the CSP continues to be agile and adjust its services to meet different demands.

With government-accredited advanced first aid training and learning opportunities, our members can be confident their skills prepare them to handle many medical conditions and be prepared to intervene in any situation that may arise.

However, being highly skilled in offering advanced first aid services is only part of the picture. As patrollers, we must communicate effectively in any scenario in which we find ourselves, from working with a patient to assisting guests of resorts in finding their way around the runs. Our role relies heavily on clear and concise communication.

The CSP Board of Directors and National Management Committee are committed to recognizing current communications challenges and opportunities for improving tools available to all organization members. By employing communication best practices, we improve our organization both operationally and strategically.

This report outlines the communications audit findings and key recommendations to the Board for ways to improve how we connect with all our stakeholders.
