Mountain Division leaders gather for spring meeting May 1-3 in Edmonton
Leaders of the CSP Mountain Division and its 11 zones will meet in Edmonton May 1 to 3 for the division’s annual spring meeting and awards.
The busy agenda begins Friday evening May 1 and extends to noon on Sunday, May 3. Several dozen representatives from across Alberta and Yukon will attend the meetings at the Sandman Edmonton South Hotel.
The meetings will be led by CSP Mountain Division President Cody Whitten.
Meeting topics include discussions on the division’s annual budget and reports from vice-presidents and coordinators on various portfolios. There will also be separate streams for patrol leaders and zone presidents.
Along with the meetings there are several guest speakers, including a presentation by orthopedic spine surgeon (and division CSP member) Dr. Jacques Bouchard on “spine injuries in the elderly skier/snowboarder.”
The division’s annual awards will presented at a banquet dinner on May 2. The awards recognize extraordinary contributions by CSP members and leaders in the Mountain Division, as well as external contributions.
The division’s spring meeting is one of two annual gatherings; There is a fall meeting in September to plan for the winter season ahead.
