Benefits

More Than a Ski Pass: The Benefits of Joining the Canadian Ski Patrol

What makes someone spend their weekends helping others on the ski hill or trail?

For members of the Canadian Ski Patrol, it’s about much more than skiing or snowboarding.  It’s about being part of a team, learning valuable skills, and making a real difference in the lives of others.

As a Ski Patroller, you’ll receive nationally recognized first aid training and develop the confidence to respond in emergency situations—skills that are just as valuable at home, at work, or in your community as they are on the slopes.

If you enjoy alpine skiing, snowboarding, or cross-country skiing, you’ll have opportunities to improve your on-snow skills while working alongside experienced patrollers who are always willing to share their knowledge.

But perhaps the greatest benefit is the people.  Ski Patrol brings together individuals of all ages and backgrounds who share a love of winter and a commitment to helping others.  Lifelong friendships are often formed through training sessions, patrol days, and the many events that members support throughout the year.

Volunteering with the Canadian Ski Patrol is also an opportunity to give back to your local skiing community.  Every patrol shift helps create a safer, more enjoyable experience for everyone on the hill or trail.

Whether you’re looking to learn new skills, stay active during the winter, meet great people, or simply find a meaningful way to volunteer, the Canadian Ski Patrol offers an experience unlike any other.

If you’re interested in learning more about becoming a Ski Patroller, or if you’d like to speak with one of our members about what the experience is really like, we’d love to hear from you.  Simply send us an email at joinus.ask@skipatrol.ca, and we’ll be happy to answer your questions and help you take the first step toward joining our team.

We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to the Canadian Ski Patrol.
