By Andrew Hill, Training and Development Portfolio Leader (andrew.hill@skipatrol.ca)

Marc Slabotsky has been appointed as the new national manager for advanced first aid. Marc is well known to many, having been a member of the CSP since 1983, following his first stint as a patroller from 1964 to 1970! As expected over such a timeframe, he has performed many functions in Pacific South Division and been recognized at the zone, division and national levels. He was awarded national Life Member No. 83 in 2022 (https://www.skipatrol.ca/newsletter/2022/10/life-members-2022/ ).

Marc is a patroller in Blue River Zone and has been the zone president there since 2002. He is also the chair of the CSP’s Pre-hospital Care Advisory Committee (PCAC) where he brings his 35 years of paramedic experience with BC Ambulance Service to bear in ensuring that our manual is kept up to date with the latest medical techniques and standards. He was a founder of the extended protocols program.

Congratulations Marc on your new appointment, which will be critical as we implement the outcomes of the training and development modernization project.

As a reminder, there are a number of other volunteer positions still available in the training and development portfolio (see https://www.skipatrol.ca/newsletter/2022/12/volunteer-opportunities-training-and-development-2/ ).
