Each new patroller is required to take our 60+ hour advanced first aid training course. Patrollers must meet a minimum national standard of training and pass national examinations in all components of the program. Our examinations include a multiple choice exam and a practical exam.

The components of this program include advanced first aid skills, on snow procedures, and a CSP specific membership module.

Attendance at all training is mandatory. Any missed training days, exams, or training will result in a fail. Please let your instructor know as soon as possible if you have previous engagements scheduled for one of the dates and we will work hard to accommodate your needs.

This manual is available on the National Database System (NDS) and on CD-ROM. Candidates are trained by peers, other patrollers, who have been trained as instructors in accordance with our Instructor Certification Program.
