Know Before You Go

Check out the latest avalanche forecast before your next trip by visiting Avalanche Canada’s website.

Although avalanche danger within our ski area boundaries are controlled, they still do occur. When travelling beyond the boundary fences, markers, or into the backcountry, these areas are not controlled and the avalanche danger increases tenfold. The temptation to have fun too easily overrules caution. Be aware. Be smart.

Hidden changes occur daily, even hourly within the snowpack. These changes can be weather- or even human-caused and may not happen immediately. Be aware of previously tracked-out areas as they may have loosened the snow enough to create an avalanche during your run.

Avalanche safety and companion rescue both require training and continuous practice.
